Last month, InXile Entertainment launched a Kickstarter Campaign to develop Torment: Tides of Numenera. It’s the spiritual successor of Planescape: Torment which happens to be one of my favorite RPG’s and quite possibly one of the best written games of all time. I’m not the only one excited about this either. Torment: Tides of Numenera currently holds the record for the fastest approved project. In only 6 hours they reached their $900,000 goal. As of today, 74,405 backers have pledged over 4 million dollars. InXile has added 19 Stretch goals to meet the continuing donations to the project. Wow.
One example of their Stretch Goals, is Castoff’s Labyrinth. For reach goal met, InXile expands adds an addition Fathom. Currently there are 12 Fathoms.
Here’s a link to the latest news on the Castoff’s Labyrinth.
A miserably short in-game footage clip has been released too, check it out:
InXile happens to also be working on Wasteland 2, the sequel one of my favorite C64 games. Wasteland 2 is an isometric team-based RPG as well. Where Nemenera is Sci-fi, magic and laser guns, Wasteland is post-apocalyptic, mutants and well, wastelands. There’s going to be some good times ahead.
